Professional Interests

In addition to being a Covenant professor, I'm also a serial entrepreneur, an author, and have had an extensive career in design, management, and photography.

I have an unquenchable passion for improving things. So in 2008, I founded Skoodat to help education leaders create flexible, sustainable, fully integrated IT solutions in the cloud. Earlier in my career, I founded Cazabba Inc., a creative and technology services firm, and led marketing and product management as a vice president for RetailersMarketXchange, a startup near San Francisco. Before that, I helped found a nonprofit called Truefaced, and spent seven years with MicroAge Inc., a publicly traded Fortune 500 technology company, where I led marketing for the $1.2 billion systems integration division.

Personal Interests

I live close to the college on Lookout Mountain with my wife of 30 years, Donna, a former teacher who makes all sorts of great baked goods, including a killer key lime pie. One of my hobbies is remodeling houses, so we bought a very funky fixer-upper that should probably be torn down, but students love to visit. I like to call it the Tim Burton house, because everything about it is off kilter, including the occupants. Both of my boys graduated from Covenant, and my daughter is currently a student.

When I'm not at my campus office in Jackson Hall, you can usually find in my studio at home, or downtown at the Skoodat office. Students are welcome to stop by any of these places to hang out.
