Major at Covenant:
History
Most influential experience at Covenant:
After looking back, I would have to say there was simply nothing like those first few weeks – freshman orientation, new classes, new friends, becoming a part of my hall. It was truly thrilling. Next to that, I would say I was shaped most by the instruction I received inside the classroom and through relationships with my professors.
Why I chose Covenant:
I grew up in a Presbyterian Church of America church in Pennsylvania, so while we heard news from Covenant every now and then, the contact I had with Covenant was through friends that I respected from church and high school who were attending at the time. I came down for a Campus Preview Weekend, and after seeing the campus, sitting in some classes and experiencing dorm life, I was sold.
Hometown:
Quarryville, PA
My co-curricular activities during college:
Played a LOT of music. Also: intramural sports, musicals (1940s Radio Hour and Fiddler on the Roof) and more.
Favorite Covenant College event:
Mountain Affair
Residence halls where I lived at Covenant:
First Belz (all five years!)
Current activities:
Music ministry at my current church, Ireland trips in the summer to Abbey Pres. in Dublin, and my band, Third Lobby.
My favorite quote:
I would put all of C.S. Lewis’ The Weight of Glory here, but I’ll just go with a small quote of his: "We may never, this side of death, drive the invader out of our territory, but we must be in the Resistance, not in the Vichy government."
