My name is Blaine Robinson, and I graduated from Covenant College in May of 2006 with a degree in biblical and theological studies. I am originally from Atlanta, GA, so I didn’t travel far from home to attend Covenant.
As the end of my high school career came into focus I grew more uncertain about exactly what I was looking for in a college. My youth leader and his wife graduated from Covenant, and he encouraged me to visit. Everything changed the moment I stepped onto the beautiful campus of this small, Christian liberal arts college in the mountains of northwest Georgia.
Before I even saw the residence hall rooms, ate the food, or talked to students, the thing that instantly attracted and eventually sold me on Covenant College was a conversation I had with Dr. Clark, a biblical studies professor. Coming from a wonderful family and strong church, I felt fairly secure in my faith. However, Dr. Clark asked me question after question and quickly made me aware of how much I still needed to learn about my own relationship with Christ.
As a student at Covenant for four years, I can tell you that Covenant is much more than a college: it is a community of Christian scholars who live, eat, study, rest, and play together, all to the glory of our Father. Student life at Covenant is something that cannot be fully explained. It must be experienced firsthand. I thank my Father for leading me to Covenant and introducing me to my beautiful wife and multiple life-long friends.
I encourage prayer and thoughtful consideration of what is most important to your spiritual life when searching for a college. Ask the hard questions and don’t be afraid of the answers you may receive.
I am currently working as an admissions representative with students from Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. I hope that I can meet you here on the mountain one day soon and can explain more fully what a gift this college has been to me and to others.
