2013 Alumni of the Year: Jim ’62 and Evie Moore Conrad ’68

Jim and Evie met while Jim was the dean of men at Covenant. They married in the chapel, located in what is now the Tuck Shoppe. Jim served as pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Naples, FL, from 1974-2000, and served on the board of Covenant College for a number of years. Evie was a teacher and pre-school administrator for Naples Christian Academy for many years. Jim pastored Providence Presbyterian Church in Murphy, NC, from 2000 to 2006, when he and Evie retired and moved to York, PA. Jim quickly came out of retirement to serve as assistant pastor at New Life Presbyterian Church in York, PA, from 2006-2011. The Conrads are now retired and attend Spring Run Presbyterian Church. Jim leads a community group and Evie is the Sunday school ministry team leader. Jim and Evie pray for the College and Covenant students, including their grandson, James Hanan Conrad ’16. The Conrads host visiting professors and students regularly and have consistently encouraged students to attend Covenant.
