On December 30, 2007, Anne Caudle Rymer died in a way that reflected how she had lived, with great faith, calm, and love. In the Jupiter (Florida) Hospital, her daughter, son, daughter-in-law, grandson, and a close friend were with her as she departed after a sudden onset of pneumonia.

Anne Rymer and her late husband Skeet were loyal and generous friends of Covenant College.

"Mr. and Mrs. Rymer came to believe in Covenant's mission and ministry," said Covenant College President Niel Nielson, "and generously supported the College's campus development. Rymer Hall, where approximately 100 students live, bears wonderful testimony to their heart for students and their education."

We mourn her death, yet give thanks to God for the life and witness of Anne Rymer who today is with her Lord.

The youngest child of William Dowd and Sidnah Anita Caudle of Chattanooga, Anne Rymer was born on November 22, 1920. On November 7, 1942, she married S.B. (Skeet) Rymer, Jr. They lived most of their 63 years together in her husband's hometown of Cleveland, TN, and part-time in North Palm Beach, FL, and Chattanooga, TN, especially after his retirement in 1986 as head of Magic Chef. Her role in her husband's career was an essential one, and together they were a wonderful mother and father to their two children, Elise Rymer and Brad Rymer.

Mrs. Rymer enjoyed time with her many friends and especially loved time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had many interests including extensive travel for business and for pleasure with her husband and often with additional family members. She cared, too, about the many charitable institutions and church-based organizations to which she contributed.

Mrs. Rymer was predeceased by her father, mother, sister Anita Silberman, brother Hardie Caudle, and husband Skeet. She is survived by her daughter Elise, her son Brad, his wife Babs, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Following a private burial, the family will greet friends on Friday, January 4, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Broad Street United Methodist Church in Cleveland, TN. The memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
