Leaders are neither born nor made; leaders are created! In God’s image, that is.
Such is the conclusion of Dr. Richard Allen in his first published book, The Genesis Principle of Leadership: Claiming & Cultivating Your Created Capacity.
Dr. Allen, professor of organizational management for Covenant College’s Quest program, trains and coaches corporate and ministry leaders in a variety of traditional and non-traditional venues across North America and around the world. In his book, he relates that the capacity for great leadership is an inherent, created aptitude within each of us. And God not only equips us to lead, Allen says, he commands us to lead.
“It is rare that breadth and depth meet in writing these days,” observes Rev. Joe Novenson, senior pastor of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church. “In The Genesis Principle of Leadership Dick Allen accomplishes both with engaging and energetic style.”
“Dick Allen lifts out of the Bible those traits that we can all learn, traits that make us leaders in the best sense of the word,” says Dr. Frank Brock, former president of Covenant College.
The Genesis Principle of Leadership is available for purchase from Covenant’s bookstore, the Tuck Shoppe.
