News :: Home

Jon WilkinsonCovenant College's young golf program has earned its first tournament victory, winning the Covenant Invitational on a snowy day in late March.

Continuing its recent success on the road, the men's golf team defeated Milligan, Tennessee Wesleyan, and Virginia Intermont with a 36-hole score of 632. Tennessee Wesleyan finished in second place with a score of 670 and Milligan finished third with a score of 683.

A surprise morning snowfall on Lookout Mountain caused the tournament start time to be postponed one hour.

Covenant's David Spencer '11 and Jon Wilkinson '08 tied for medalist honors with 36-hole scores of 156. The Scots' Trevor Potts '10, Michael Dinwiddie '09, and Dave Wilkinson '11 also earned All-Tournament honors.

The golf team continues play April 7-8 in Kingsport, TN, before traveling to London, Kentucky for the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament.
