Spring Chorale Concert

Covenant College's department of music presents a spring concert with the Covenant Chorale on Thursday, April 19, 2012. The concert, directed by Associate Professor of Music Ken Anderson, will be held in the sanctuary of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church.

“This location not only affords a good acoustic but also a pipe organ to accompany the Requiem by Gabriel Fauré,” says Professor Anderson. “The Fauré is a multi-movement work for choir and student soloists.  Our performance will also feature Joanna Pinkerton '14 on the harp with Mr. John Wigal at the organ console.”

In addition to Fauré's Requiem, the Chorale will perform John Rutter's Te Deum, as well as other familiar hymn arrangements and One Voice, an arrangement of a song by Barry Manilow.

“This semester the sound of the Chorale is sweet and strong,” says Professor Anderson. “Those who love choral music (and their friends in Chorale) will find the program memorable.”

The concert begins at 8:00 p.m. It is free and open to the public. For more information, call 706.419.1453.
