Art Professor Jeffrey Morton Curates Show in Chattanooga

Dr. Jeffrey Morton

Covenant College Professor of Art Jeffrey Morton has curated an exhibition of works on paper that is on display at the AVA Gallery in Chattanooga through August 22, 2009.

A reception will be held Friday, August 7, from 5:30-8:00 pm.

A 1984 installation of large-scale self-portrait sculptures by Jonathan Borofsky at the Philadelphia Museum of Art inspired Prof. Morton to curate this show, entitled "Accessing the  Artist's Brain: Drawing as Metaphor."

The exhibition includes works by artists Ron Buffington, John W. Ford, Jodi Hays, Jean Hess, Mark Hosford, Jake Kelley, Marilyn Murphy, Joseph Peragine, Chris Scarborough, Jered Sprecher, John Tallman, Bill Thelen,  and David Young.

The Association for Visual Arts Gallery is located at 30 Frazier Avenue, Chattanooga, TN.
