Covenant College Hosts Meeting of American Chemical Society
On September 15, 2010, Covenant College’s chemistry department will host a meeting of the American Chemical Society. Although the dinner requires reservations and has a cost, the lecture is open and free to the public and will likely interest anyone with a passion for chemistry or chocolate.
Dr. Joe Vinson, of the University of Scranton, will discuss chocolate’s positive health effects. According to his research, a serving of chocolate milk contains as many antioxidants as a glass of red wine and therefore benefits the circulatory system.
The presentation is titled: “Chocolate: Really Good for You,” and begins at 7:00 p.m. in Mills Hall on Covenant’s campus. Dinner is served at 6:00, with chocolate chocolate cheesecake for dessert.
To make dinner reservations, contact Jennifer Bachman at 931.598.3237 or firstname.lastname@example.org no later than noon on Friday, September 10.
