Covenant College presents the Neal Conference on True Spirituality, September 20-24, 2010.
Our guest speaker is Rev. Sunder Krishnan, and our guest musicians are Derek Webb and Sandra McCracken.
Guest Speaker Rev. Sunder Krishnan
Born into an orthodox Hindu family in India, Rev. Krishnan came to know Jesus Christ as his Savior through the ministry of Youth For Christ during his first year of university. He is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology and received his M.S. in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After a career in safety analysis with Atomic Energy of Canada, Rev. Krishnan joined the pastoral staff of Rexdale Alliance Church in Etobikoke, Ontario, in 1980. He has served as senior pastor at Rexdale since 1997.
Musical Guests Derek Webb and Sandra McCracken
After a decade in the Dove Award-winning band Caedmon's Call, Derek Webb began a successful solo career. His most recent effort, "Stockholm Syndrome," was ranked in the top ten for 2009 by CCM Magazine, Relevant Magazine and Rhapsody, among others.
Sandra McCracken is a renowned songwriter and performer, consistently recording albums since 2000. In 2010 she released "Feast or Fallow," a collection of "new and ancient hymns," to critical acclaim.
History of the Neal Conference
As a Covenant student, Chuck Neal's life was transformed by a series of chapel talks by Francis Schaeffer, the content of which Schaeffer soon wrote into the book True Spirituality. Years later Chuck's family made the Neal Conference on True Spirituality possible, hoping future students would also benefit from speakers exploring the core tenets of the gospel.
