Day of Prayer
Covenant’s bi-annual Day of Prayer is September 25, 2013. Classes are not held so that students, faculty, and staff can participate in the prayer day. The theme for the autumn Day of Prayer is found in Psalm 86:5-7.
“For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace. In the day of my trouble I call upon you, for you answer me.”
“In selecting the guiding Scripture for our day, we were mindful that this semester has been a joyful time of new beginnings, and a challenging time marked by loss and grief,” said Chaplain Grant Lowe. “The psalmist calls out to the Lord in Psalm 86:5-7, praising his character, pleading that his creator might hear and resting in the one who will answer. Such is our call, desire and assurance as we set aside this day for prayer.”
