Department of Theatre and Film Studies Presents "Watchmen for the Morning"

college theatre program

This October, 2010, Covenant College’s Theatre and Film Studies Department will present its production of Professor Camille Hallstrom's one-woman show, Watchmen for the Morning.  Written and performed by Hallstrom, Watchmen chronicles the life of Katie von Bora and her husband, the Protestant reformer Martin Luther.

“Luther devoted a surprisingly large amount of his prolific writings to the details of married life,” says Hallstrom. “The result is an unusually well-rounded portrait of an unusual and well-rounded woman. On the surface, the couple would appear to have been incompatible, but in spite of their considerable differences, the pair managed to foster a passionate and joyous relationship.  In spite of the passion and joy, they also managed to foster a good bit of comic, rough-and-tumble, mutual frustration. They stand as one of the most colorful couples in all of Western history and literature.”

Watchmen for the Morning will be performed October 22 and 23 at 8:00 p.m. All shows are in Sanderson Hall auditorium on Covenant’s campus. Tickets can be purchased at the door while seating is available. Advance tickets may be reserved by calling 706.419.1051. All tickets are $3. For more information please send an e-mail or visit the theatre and film studies homepage.
