LifeKit Prepares Students for Life After College
Covenant College’s LifeKit kicked off with a dinner on November 6, 2012. Speakers included President Halvorson as well as local alumni and professionals, addressing topics such as career, personal finance, and personal, emotional, and spiritual connectedness, preparing students for post-college life.
"The collaboration between multiple offices and students resulted in a fantastic turnout,” says Anthony Tucker, director of the Center for Calling & Career. “With over 100 students in attendance, there was standing room only by the end of the event.”
"It was very informative and encouraging,” says Leah Klett ’13. “President Halvorson's talk was especially encouraging. He reminded us that we don’t have to be afraid of the future, and that God is using all of our experiences now to prepare us for the future."
At the event, the Center for Calling & Career surveyed the students in attendance, asking what issues LikeKit should cover this year. Potential topics this semester include healthcare, budgeting, taxes, and grad-school preparation. “We're looking forward to the next LifeKit events and are excited to continue preparing students for life after college," says Tucker.
