The Education Department at Covenant College is pleased to announce that Five Ways Technology is Transforming Teaching is the topic for this year’s Educators Conference, to be held on Thursday, February 28, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our featured guests for the conference are Dr. Peggy Roblyer, a national leader of integrating technology across the curriculum, and Dr. Aaron Doering of the University of Minnesota. This is a conference for all K-12 classroom teachers, educational leaders, technology coordinators, and all those with an interest in how to integrate the latest technologies with classroom instruction.
The 2008 Educators Conference is generously co-sponsored by Baylor School, Chattanooga Christian School, Girls Preparatory School, McCallie School, Notre Dame High School, and The Bright School. Each year, educators gather on Covenant’s campus for a day of professional development, networking, and fellowship.

Your $75 conference fee includes conference attendance, lunch, refreshments and discounted pricing on Dr. Roblyer’s and Dr. Doering's books through Covenant’s bookstore. Registration deadline: February 15, 2008.

The annual Career Summit coincides with the 2008 Educators Conference. For those administrators coming to meet teacher education students, please consider attending the Educators Conference on Thursday, February 28, then plan on an evening with the juniors and seniors Thursday night, followed by regular interview times with the seniors on Friday, February 29.

More about our guest speakers:
For over two decades, Dr. Roblyer has been at the forefront of educational technology. She has published dozens of articles, monographs, book chapters, and books on various aspects of technology. Some of her more recent books include Essentials of technology in teaching and learning: A hands-on approach (2007), Integrating educational technology into teaching (4th Edition, 2006), Starting out on the Internet: A learning journey for teachers (3rd Edition, 2006), and Educational technology in action: Problem-based learning exercises for technology integration (2004).
Dr. Roblyer earned her master's degree from Penn State and her Ph.D. from Florida State. In addition to her extensive writing, teaching, and speaking careers, Dr. Roblyer has also done extensive work in consulting, editorial work from various publications, and has held a number of elected and appointed positions in national and international associations. Dr. Aaron Doering’s research involves the design, development, and evaluation of online learning environments, technology integration in K-12 pre-service and in-service settings, and the innovative use of technology to support teaching and learning. Most recently, Dr. Doering’s research and projects have focused on hybrid online adventure learning environments, online scaffolding environments, and online community-building environments.
