Reformed University Fellowship at Covenant
Reformed University Fellowship has been reaching students for Christ and equipping them to serve at Covenant College since 2001. We seek to reach and equip by the word of Christ, through encouraging, challenging and refreshing relationships. We believe that the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ changes everything. It is only because of faith in the finished work of Christ that we have a restored relationship with our Father. Our aim as flawed and sinful people is to humbly show others the grace and truth we have received. If God answers our prayers we will extend the grace to our Covenant College commuity, the local community and the world.
Through practical biblical teaching we help students take their theology and see where practically "the rubber meets the road." Our goal is that RUF at Covenant will help give students a great college experience and will also prepare them for a lifetime of serving and leading in their marrriages, homes, churches, communities and businesses.
RUF helps students grow in Christ through weekly large group teaching and worship. We train students to lead small-group, discussion-oriented, Bible studies. We enjoy serving God in foreign missions. We've done outreach to university students over spring break in Mexico City, Mexico, and Athens, Greece. We also have opportunities to show practical mercy ministry. Over fall break we have done Katrina rebuild trips and have also helped widows repair their homes. And RUF students at Covenant enjoy fellowship with the larger RUF community around the region and country through regional and national conferences as well as joint international mission trips.
Campus Minister Ron Brown has served with RUF Covenant since 2006. Prior to this he started the RUF at Florida State University and worked as an assistant pastor at two different churches. Ron loves getting to know students and meeting with them for counsel and prayer. Ron and his wife, Susan, live on Lookout Mountain and enjoy opening up their home to students.
