Favorite place on campus
I love the Great Hall! It’s a place that is just buzzing with excitement at meal time. It brings the whole campus together, which means that it’s a great opportunity to get to see and talk to so many people. I also love Carter lobby, because it too is a major hub on campus while at the same time offering a comfortable place to study and converse with friends. I could go on and on with favorite spots on campus, but the hall of 2nd South definitely takes the cake. I feel at home there with all my fellow Southies (hallmates). Any time I want to just relax and have fun, it’s always perfect. Any time I need to talk or be uplifted, my brothers on the hall are there for me. I really can’t imagine better residence life.

Why did you choose Covenant?
I was attracted to Covenant because, unlike many other colleges, Covenant is much more than just a Christian school in name. It walks what it talks; it strives to put Christ above all. I chose Covenant because I knew that my education would not be compartmentalized. My faith is not put on a shelf while we dive into the depths of science, art, or philosophy. Rather, I can already see the way all disciplines are tied together with a unifying Christian worldview that sees God as the Creator and Christ as the Redeemer of all creation.
What do you like about Covenant?
The overall college experience has a much larger influence on a person outside of academics – one that is either beneficial or detrimental to the Christian’s walk. At Covenant, our faith doesn’t just confine itself to chapel or even the classroom. It permeates the whole campus – our relationships and our habits. I consider Covenant and its Christian atmosphere to be the best place for me right now in my relationship with the Lord.
What has been your favorite experience at Covenant?
The camaraderie and fun that accompanied my hall going to the flag football championship.
What is your favorite class?
I love the student-faculty relationships at Covenant. My professors genuinely care about me as a person, about how well I do in class, and about the ways I am impacted by what I learn. This makes for a hard choice in determining my favorite class. However, I think I would have to give the edge to General Biology I, with Dr. Tim Morris. Dr. Morris epitomizes the description above and has somehow managed to make the difficult course of biology interesting and enjoyable for me.
What person at Covenant has had the greatest impact on you?
I have been greatly impacted by the development of close friendships with the godly young men on my hall. I have so much fun with these guys, but they also sharpen me and hold me accountable in my walk with God.
What are your post-graduation plans?
Law school. I’m also leaving open the possibility of pursuing an MBA in the future.
How do you think Covenant is preparing you for the future?
The academics here are rigorous. I am thankful that Covenant really challenges me, and as a liberal arts school, Covenant is preparing me for any future calling by making me into a more well-rounded person.
