Favorite place on campus

The chapel lawn! When the weather is nice it’s the hub of student life. Frisbee, soccer, hula-hooping, you name it. And when it snows it’s the spot for many epic snowball battles.

Why did you choose Covenant?

I came from a huge high school and was ready to go to a smaller college. When I found Covenant, I knew instantly that this was where God wanted me to be. The people were amazing, and the scenery was breathtaking. Who wouldn’t love it?

How is Covenant unique?

Covenant really takes its motto seriously, and I have found that the college really does strive to make Christ the center of every department, major and student activity. I couldn’t ask for a better place to live and grow as a Christian!

What has been your favorite experience at Covenant?

Mountain Air, a lip-syncing competition, my freshman year. So ridiculously fun, and my group won!

What is your favorite class?

My favorite class so far has been Painting II with Professor Morton. He is a phenomenal teacher and he has made me think of art in ways which I never would have otherwise.

What person at Covenant has had the greatest impact on you?

My RA, Jordan Harwood. She made my transition into Covenant so enjoyable and over the past two years has been one of the best friends I could ever ask for. She is loving and kind and is ALWAYS there when I need her. My life here would not be the same without her!

What’s your favorite part of the day at Covenant?

Nighttime. I love the spontaneity that grips the students once the sun sets. There’s no telling what kind of shenanigans you will get into!

What are your post-graduation plans?

I would love to keep pursuing art. Maybe as a teacher, maybe as a painter, maybe as a gallery owner, who knows really...besides God, that is.

How is Covenant equipping you for the future?

Covenant is constantly challenging my way of thinking and always urging me to look at something in a different way. I have grown stronger in my faith and who I am as a person. Covenant is giving me the tools to go beyond my visible potential to strive to be all that God means for me to be.
