Favorite place on campus
The balcony at the end of my hall, especially in the fall and spring when everything is colorful and people are everywhere. It’s a great place to hang out with friends in the sun, people-watch, and have slumber parties with girls on my hall.

Why did you choose Covenant?
The community on campus really drew me to Covenant. I visited on Campus Preview Weekend and was immediately drawn in to the craziness and communal living that embodies Covenant. I visited several other schools, but nothing seemed to compare to the student life at Covenant. I also felt that Covenant would best teach and equip me as a disciple of Christ, both in my field of study, and in all aspects of life. And that has definitely been true of my experience here so far.

How is Covenant unique?
Covenant encourages students’ growth as disciples of Christ not just in chapel, but also in academics, relationships, sports, and careers. Mixing freshmen and upperclassmen on each hall provides opportunity for leadership and mentoring. Also, the faculty and staff’s interest and involvement in students’ lives in and out of the classroom provides a really unique environment for learning and growth.

What has been your favorite experience at Covenant?
Mud sliding on the chapel lawn. Can I say that? Really, all of the times I’ve spent with girls on my hall - laughing, crying, creating, laughing some more, just living life together - have been so meaningful and memorable. Student-led chapel is also fantastic.

What is your favorite class?
Interpersonal Communication with Dr. Vos. It’s a sociology class, but it is so applicable to every part of daily life. I have been challenged to think about the way I interact with people day to day and the way they are affected by this interaction. Dr. Vos makes the class so entertaining and interesting using different teaching methods and practical applications. He challenges us to be Christ-like and others-focused in our communication with people. I always look forward to gleaning from his insight.

What person at Covenant has had the greatest impact on you?
My close friends, the people that share life with me day-in and day-out, have taught me so much about love, grace, and beauty. I came to Covenant not knowing anyone—I couldn’t have even imagined the deep, encouraging friendships I would make here.

What’s your favorite part of the day at Covenant?
Night - when everyone is done with the day and has time to just be together.

What are your post-graduation plans?
To do some sort of social work in the inner city and to have a family.
