Favorite place on campus
I have a lot of great memories from time spent in the history department in Brock. We have our own semi-secluded section of the building with a sitting area and all of the history professors' offices next to each other. Whether I am looking for good discussion, some goofing off, or just a place to sit down between classes, the history department is the place to go.

Why did you choose Covenant?
I chose Covenant for its strong, biblically-based worldview and its small size-it's not every school that you can sit in discussion-based classes of just 13 students under the teaching of some of the great Christian minds of our generation!
How is Covenant unique?
Covenant is unique for its application of Christian free-thinking. Christian, liberal arts schools are often accused of attempting to enforce a particular point of view upen their students. At Covenant, I have instead been daily encouraged to be inquisitive and I always find my opinions respected by both the faculty and my peers. Yet, even if I strongly disagree with a professor or fellow student I can know we share a common faith and love in Jesus Christ that drives our search for truth.
What has been your favorite experience at Covenant?
A snow day in Spring 2008. Having grown up in Ivory Coast, Africa, I had never seen snow before in my life. This particular evening, Covenant got about an inch of snow and everyone poured out onto the chapel lawn where I got to take part in an epic snowball fight and build a snowman. It was the perfect first snow experience.
What is your favorite class, and why?
Introduction to History with Dr. Green, hands down. When I first came to Covenant, I saw my history major as simply a stepping stone into law school and this class as just one more core class I needed to get out of the way. Instead this class would revolutionize my perception of "doing" history, allowing me to see just how complex, difficult, and exciting a discipline it actually is. Intro to History has given me a passion and love for my studies that goes far beyond my original interest in the subject. It has made me proud to be a historian.
What person at Covenant has had the greatest impact on you, and why?
A hallmate of mine, Andrew Musser, has been such a blessing to me during my time at Covenant. When I came in as a freshman, he, an upperclassman, quickly befriended me and became both a confidant and a mentor. As I struggled to gain my footing in this new college environment, he was not only an older, wiser arm to lean on, but also an honest, loving friend to confide in. He has shown to me what a true, Christian brother looks like.
What's your favorite part of the day at Covenant?
The early evening. Everyone has finished up classes, you know you have survived another day, and homework permitting, now is the time to have some fun.
What are your post-graduation plans?
I plan on going to law school, after which I hope to work overseas either with a non-profit organization or through the State Department.
How is Covenant equipping you for the future?
Covenant has allowed me to come in contact with a wide range of knowledge as a student, and forced me to work hard in order to master it. In the future, the ability to think critically and retain knowledge easily will help me as I compete in a tough job market. Covenant has also provided a Christian environment in which I can grow and mature, fully equipping me to stand firm in my convictions in a world that is often directly challenging my beliefs.
