Why did you choose Covenant?
I chose Covenant because of the theological standards that the college lives up to. Because Covenant is a strong Christian liberal arts college, I believe that I am able to get the best education with Christ at the heart of every subject and discipline.
How is Covenant unique?
Covenant is unique in the fact that there is a community developed amongst a wide range of people. No matter where you are from or what financial state you are in, there is a sense of camaraderie between classmates, hall mates, and other students on campus. It really makes the idea of a Christian atmosphere come to life.
What has been your favorite experience at Covenant?
My favorite experience at Covenant would have to be Spring Banquet. I really enjoyed the Hunter Art Museum, and the ambiance that was created. It was a lot of fun to see all the students dressed up and with their dates. Art, dancing, good food, and great people---what can get better than that?
What is your favorite class?
My favorite class at Covenant is Painting with Dr. Kellogg. He knows how to give direction, but still leaves room for invention and creativity.
What person at Covenant has had the greatest impact on you?
I would have to say Julie Moore, the director of student life. She is such a godly woman, and I respect her greatly for that. She has taught me a lot about compassion through her actions, and she truly leads a life of contentment. She is a dear friend and mentor.
What's your favorite part of the day?
My favorite part of the day at Covenant is the evening. I love looking out my window and observing the sunset over the mountains. When I get to see the sunset from Lookout Mountain, I really begin to appreciate the creation that God has made.
What are your post-graduation plans?
When I graduate, I plan to either go to art school or possibly live overseas for a few years. Eventually, I hope to get married, and start a family.
How do you think Covenant is preparing you for the future?
I feel that Covenant is equipping me for the most important areas of life. I feel that Covenant has helped me grow intellectually as well as spiritually. At the end of the day what matters is our relationship with our heavenly Father. I believe that Covenant not only realizes the importance of this relationship, but also puts it into practice by way of choosing presidents for the college, faculty and staff for the college, and even by selecting students that strive to have Christ as their center. Covenant has given me the knowledge to go out and make a difference for the kingdom of God.
