Why did you choose Covenant?
I liked the idea of a small, liberal arts Christian school. Covenant seemed to be strongly committed to an education that integrated faith and academics, with faculty that stood behind that vision and were involved with their students. Also, of the four schools I looked at, Covenant gave me the best deal, which was definitely a plus.

How is Covenant unique?
It turned out that the things Covenant claimed to have when I was searching for a college, such as the integrated faith and academics and a passionate faculty who worked closely with their students, were actually real. But more than anything else, the guidance I have received from my professors on how to seriously approach academics with a Christ-centered view has been astounding.

What is your favorite class, and why?
Optics and Modern Physics with Dr. Broussard. This course opened my eyes to the amazing complexities of modern physics, and helped me to know why I had chosen Physics as my major. In much the same way, History of Western Music 1900 to Present with Dr. Kreuze reminded me why I loved to study music. It renewed my interest in seriously approaching music beyond simply performing it.

What person at Covenant has had the greatest impact on you, and why?
I cannot really list any one person. Instead, I would say that all my close friends here at Covenant, in their own ways, have done the most to shape me into someone different from the person I was when I first arrived here. Everything, from discussing topics after class to debating cultural issues, has influenced me, little by little, leaving me with an expanded outlook on life.

What are your post-graduation plans?
I plan to attend grad school in experimental Physics, in pursuit of a doctorate.

How is Covenant equipping you for the future?
Most obviously, I am receiving an excellent education that is preparing me for future studies. It is also teaching me to love a broad range of learning even more through the core curriculum. On top of this, I have been and am being taught by my professors how to learn, and how to carefully tread the often dangerous waters of higher education.

Covenant students put on costumes and stepped into a "silent disco" experience, dancing and singing along to music that was broadcast through headphones rather than a traditional speaker system.

New students got a taste of downtown Chattanooga fun during Orientation week.
