Favorite place on campus
The numerous trails around campus, including Jackson Pond. The ability to walk out of my residence hall and be on a picturesque trail in less than a minute makes the trails a common refuge and a calm place to enjoy creation.

Why did you choose Covenant?
I was called to ministry during my freshman year in college, so I began looking for Christian schools to transfer to. Overwhelmed by how much the professors and students cared during a weekend visit, I realized Covenant was the place for me.

How is Covenant unique?
The community of students for mutual spiritual encouragement and growth, plus the genuine concern the professors have for students both academically and spiritually, coupled with the excellent academics, makes Covenant a rare find. Also, studying every subject in light of the Gospel without fear of being taught lies has made the classroom at Covenant a great place to grow in both academic and spiritual knowledge.

What has been your favorite experience at Covenant?
The worship events and chapels. Events like "Not to Us" have been amazing times of worship with brothers and sisters in Christ, and I always look forward to Chaplain Messner’s teaching on Mondays in chapel.

What is your favorite class?
Doctrine with Dr. Kelly Kapic. Dr. Kapic’s ability to bring to life what most people would consider dry doctrine impresses me every class. He uses the Bible to challenge why we believe what we believe, so I end up changing and adding to my knowledge of Scripture, and therefore, I grow deeper in my relationship with Christ. It is better than a convicting sermon - and I get it three times a week. I hardly believe class is over every time he says, "See you next time!"

What person at Covenant has had the greatest impact on you?
Chris Musser, my close friend, because of his passionate pursuit of his relationship with Christ and his desire to share that with the campus and with the world. As an example of the type of encouragement found in the student body at Covenant, Chris has challenged me to grow in prayer, my passion for Christ and for sharing it with others, my knowledge of the Bible, and in meaningful, Christ-centered relationships.

What’s your favorite part of the day at Covenant?
Either the sunrise or the sunset. Walking to class at 7:55a.m. becomes a joy when I can see the sun coming up over South Carolina and the Georgia mountains! And dinner in the Great Hall while the sun sets over Alabama is just as magnificent!

What are your post-graduation plans?
I plan to go on to seminary and to be a youth pastor. Beyond that, I know the Lord knows.

How is Covenant equipping you for the future?
Covenant is teaching me how to think, and specifically, how to think in light of the Gospel. If I can learn to think, I can be trained for any job, but even more importantly, I can know how to live meaningfully in every part of life.
