Covenant College partners with Mission to the World and a variety of other missions organizations to offer its students access to a wide network of missions opportunities. Mission to the World is the mission-sending agency of the Presbyterian Church in America, helping to fulfill the Great Commission by advancing Reformed and covenantal church-planting movements through word and deed in strategic areas worldwide.
Break on Impact - Spring Break Missions Trips
Each Spring Break, many students decide to make a difference in the lives of others around the world by participating in a Break on Impact missions trip. The purpose of this program is to remove students from the ordinary and immerse them in situations in which the focus is on serving others and sharing the love of Christ, while learning about the diversity within God's creation and seeing the advance of his Kingdom around the world.
Break on Impact 2012 trips:
- Clarkston, Georgia
- Port Au Prince, Haiti
- London, United Kingdom
- Yakama Indian Reservation
Students may choose to go overseas for two months in the summer or take a semester off to serve abroad. A recent college graduate may serve for up to 11 months before committing to career and family responsibilities. These opportunities are designed to give the participant a taste of missionary life and ministry experience overseas, as well as enable many to confirm their calling.
Past experiences have included summers in East Asia, India, Ireland, Kenya, Slovakia, Ukraine, locations throughout the U.S. and more. Many of our graduates have gone on to serve for 2-3 years or longer in various fields around the world, often returning to where they previously served during a summer internship.
Highlighted opportunities include teaching English in East Asia and serving in missions internships in Athens, Greece; Brussels, Belgium; Dublin, Ireland; and Nairobi, Kenya. Many more opportunities are also available.
If you are interested in pursuing a missions opportunity or you wish to support Covenant students in these experiences, please contact Christiana Fitzpatrick in the Chapel Department at email@example.com or 706.419.1279.
