Barnes Physical Education Center houses a gymnasium used for varsity and JV basketball and volleyball, as well as the athletics department and several workout rooms.

The top two floors are comprised of coaching and physical education department offices, classrooms, and an indoor corridor linking Barnes with Ashe Activity Center.

The gymnasium is on the main level and seats 2,000.

The lower level of the building contains a climbing wall, an aerobics room, and a weight room.

Barnes is named in honor of Covenant's second president, Dr. Marion D. Barnes.
