The Cottages were originally built in the 1930’s as a series of individual units. When the Johnson family bought the facility in the 1950’s, they tore down most of the original cabins and built two rows of rooms facing the valley. The Johnson’s Scenic Courts remained a family owned and operated business until it was sold to Covenant College in 1988.
The new “Lookout Inn” ran as an independent business for 16 years. Then, as the campus grew, the College recognized the Inn’s potential as guest housing. Covenant renovated the Inn, and in 2005 it reopened it as the Covenant College Guest Rooms and Cottages.
Covenant's Guest Rooms are located 0.4 miles past the main entrance of the College, a short 5-minute walk from Carter Hall and 2 minutes from Ashe Activity Center.
