Yes! There are multiple ways to meet professors during Covenant 360. The first and most popular way to meet faculty is to attend a class and speak with the professor afterwards. The second way is to attend the Academic Open House. Additionally, some departments will choose to do departmental presentations. Those will be published on the master schedule as they are confirmed.
Covenant 360 is a great way to see what it's like to live as a Scot for the day; however, you will not be paired with a student to shadow. We encourage you to attend classes and programs that interest you and to get to know your future classmates.
A class list will be published and emailed out the week of Covenant 360. Friday classes are typically 50 minutes long so we encourage you to select a few that interest you to observe. Admissions counselors and current students are available to help recommend classes for observation. Parents are also welcomed and encouraged, but not required, to observe classes. Some parents observe class with their student and some observe a different class than their student. Both options have their advantages, so we encourage you to do what suits the needs of your family best.
While we try to take all cancelled classes off the class list, unfortunately, last minute changes are bound to happen. We sincerely apologize if you arrive to a class and they are not having class that day. Admissions Counselors will be standing in the hallways to help you find an alternate class to observe.
You may choose to bring spending money for the Blink (snack shop) or the Tuck Shoppe (campus bookstore) but that is optional.
Admissions interviews are optional and are at the discretion of the Admissions Counselor or the Admissions File Evaluator. If you are requested to interview, you will be asked to set up a phone interview. Interviews are not conducted during Covenant 360.
Admissions counselors will be in Carter Lobby during Covenant 360 to talk with you and your family and to answer any questions you might have. Additionally, there will be an informational session/panel. You can submit your questions in advance to email@example.com with the subject "Panel Questions."
Absolutely! Covenant 360 is a time for you to experience life at Covenant, and is customizable to your unique personality and needs. Although we highly recommend attending activities like the Welcome Meeting, ResLife Event, and other informational sessions, attendance is not required. There will also be plenty of low-key activities for you to participate in such as lawn and board games or chilling in the Student Lounge, and you can always head back to your room if you need some time to yourself. Introvert or extrovert, there will be current students, faculty, and staff ready to welcome you to campus, answer questions, talk to you about Covenant, and help you make the most of your time here.
Check out the Covenant College Theatre page for more information about current productions.
