Master of Arts in Teaching

Students interested in teaching in the following fields should complete a major in that field at the undergraduate level along with the education minor, followed by completion of a fifth year in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program. These fields are:

  • Biblical Studies
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Economics
  • English
  • French
  • German
  • History
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Spanish
  • Theatre

The Covenant College Teacher Education Program has earned a Level 4 rating on the 2019 and 2020 Teacher Preparation Program Effectiveness Measures (PPEMs) published by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC). Level 4 is above the expected level of performance for effectively preparing future teachers and is the highest rating available.
