Nathaniel's Story: A Cutting Edge Career in Cybersecurity
Nathaniel Henriques graduated from Covenant College in 2018 with a degree in computer science. Now, you can find Nathaniel working on cybersecurity as a technical analyst for Chick-Fil-A corporate by day, and studying for a masters degree in theology by night. Preparing highly skilled, competitive graduates with diverse side-interests and a life-long pursuit of learning is what we do best.
"Covenant shaped my understanding of calling, work, and life. More than anything, Covenant showed me how to live life authentically and holistically"
"I gained technical knowledge and practical wisdom from professors. I lived in community with wonderful men and women. And I learned that the way you work and the way you live should not be separated. My attitude towards both the significance of my work and relationships led me directly to the Chick-fil-A Support Center."
"I believe the cognitive skills I developed at Covenant are just as important as the specific technical skills. Although there are many very specialized courses I took at Covenant (e.g. Cryptography or Computer Organization) that I haven't yet used in my work, those classes challenged and sharpened my mind and honed my ability to solve complex problems."
"Additionally, my Biblical Studies & Theology classes sharpened my ability to think critically about complex issues, both conversationally and in writing - a valuable skill in the corporate setting. I find this field both spiritually edifying and intellectually fascinating; while I was at Covenant I took so many classes in that program that I almost double-majored. Currently, I am pursuing a master's degree at Reformed Theological Seminary on a part-time basis, and have thoroughly enjoyed studying under professors such as Sinclair Ferguson, Ligon Duncan, and Bill Davis. As I work through the program (as my time allows), I hope to use these skills in service to my local church."
