Plans Announced for Construction of Baseball & Softball Fields

Covenant College announced today its plans for construction of a baseball field and softball field at its Lookout Mountain campus. Covenant's young baseball and softball teams have been playing at off-campus locations. The addition of on-campus facilities will be a huge boon to the growing programs.

Head baseball coach Doug Simons said he is "excited about the progess we are making on the baseball field and what it will mean to this baseball program. Covenant has hired a top-notch architectural firm and picked a beautiful site. This is a huge step in the right direction."

Lisa Rogers, head softball coach, agrees: "I am very excited for Covenant College and our softball program. The ability to provide this facility will not only help our current student athletes but will help our recruiting efforts for the future."

The new athletic fields will be constructed at the site of the current Highlands field. Design of the facilities includes allowances for the possible future additions of a training facility, press boxes, and concessions facilities.

Construction of these baseball and softball fields are a part of Covenant's larger 5-year BUILD campaign.
