Day of Prayer
On Tuesday, February 11, 2014, the Covenant College community will observe its bi-annual Day of Prayer. Classes will dismiss for the day as students, staff, and faculty dedicate themselves to a time of prayer. The theme verse for the spring Day of Prayer comes from Lamentations 3:25:
“The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.”
Members of the Covenant community will spend time in both corporate and private prayer, through a service at Rock City, a daily office, and a worship service on the Monday preceding February 11.
“Each semester, we look forward to Covenant’s Day of Prayer as a time to break from our routine of classes and meetings and to spend time with our community and on our own, seeking the Lord for His guidance, comfort, and sustaining grace,” said Christiana Fitzpatrick, special programs and mentoring coordinator for the Chapel Department. “From halls gathered for prayer and fellowship in Carter tower to singing and praying with hundreds at Rock City while the sun comes up to small groups of staff gathering to pray together, we are reminded that we are a people in need of the grace and mercy of God.”
