Theatre: Ten-Minute Play Festival
The Covenant College Department of Theatre is pleased to present a community-wide collaborative play festival beginning April 16, 2015. The festival is the product of Nina Brock’s (’15) senior integration project—a project that brought over fifty students, faculty, and staff into the process of writing, producing, and acting in ten-minute plays.
“I am super excited to have the opportunity to produce Covenant College’s first ever new play festival,” said Brock. “It’s been a great opportunity to learn more about the business side of putting on a show. I’ve grown a new appreciation for the amount of work it takes to perform a good production.”
The Ten-Minute Play Festival will feature a variety of comedic and dramatic plays all written and performed by members of the Covenant community. Each play is centered on the theme of “returning home.”
“The theme of returning home has delivered a variety of ideas and styles from each of the writers,” said Brock. “I look forward to witnessing each of these plays being brought to life. I can honestly say that the festival will be a truly exciting experience where you will leave questioning what home really means to you.”
The Ten-Minute Play Festival will open on April 16, at 8:00 p.m., with two additional shows on April 17, at 8:00 p.m. and on April 18, at 2:30 p.m. All performances will be held in Sanderson Hall 215.
Tickets for the Ten-Minute Play Festival are $5 for adults and $3 for students, staff, and seniors. To reserve tickets or to request more information, call the box office at 706.419.1051 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
