Profs. Corbett & Fikkert Co-Author Helping Without Hurting in Short-Term Missions

Helping Without HurtingThe authors of the modern classic When Helping Hurts, Covenant College professors Steve Corbett and Dr. Brian Fikkert, have released new resources for groups interested in short-term missions, titled Helping Without Hurting in Short-Term Missions. Covenant alumna Katie Casselberry ’10 also contributed to the resources, which include a leader’s guide and a participant’s guide.

Applying the principles of When Helping Hurts to the short-term mission field, Corbett, Fikkert, and Casselberry have developed a digestible eight-unit curriculum to aid both leaders and participants in developing short-term mission trips and projects that help rather than hurt.

Using the power of story along with empirical research, Helping Without Hurting in Short-Term Missions allows team members and leaders to follow along with online video lessons and facilitates discussion among team members.

Helping Without Hurting in Short-Term Missions will be useful for pastors, youth leaders, mission directors, and others interested in a thoughtful approach to short-term missions. The participant’s guide and leader’s guide are both available for sale through Amazon.
