Celebrate Christmas at Covenant College

Celebrate Christmas at Covenant

DECEMBER 8, 2017, CANCELLATION UPDATE:
Due to the threat of roads refreezing with falling temperatures at night, Covenant College has made the decision to cancel the Celebrate Christmas concert planned for Friday evening, December 8, 2017. Our primary concern is for the safety of our concert guests, students, faculty, and staff. We regret the inconvenience and disappointment such a decision brings, and we wish all a blessed Advent season.

Come experience the joy of Christmas at Covenant College’s annual Christmas celebration on Thursday, December 7, 2017, or Friday, December 8, 2017. Free tickets are available on our website for the concerts in the chapel, and VIP parking can be reserved for $5.

Celebrate Christmas at Covenant is the result of collaboration throughout the entire music department and represents the work of students and faculty alike. Professors Scott Finch ’96, Lok Kim, Jim Ward, Kara Funke, and Cindy Wallis will direct ensembles during the performance.

The concert will center on the theme, “Marvelous in Our Eyes,” which calls attention to the fact that our appropriate response to reflecting on Christ’s first advent is sheer wonder, awe, and praise. We cannot be silent because God has not been silent. We hope that you will join us in praise of our King!

The concert will feature a wide range of musical talent including the Jazz Ensemble, Covenant Singers, Chamber Singers, Flute Choir, Brass Choir, Covenant Chorale, and Chamber Orchestra, with Jane Metcalfe ’19 as our featured organist.

Doors for the concerts will open at 6:30 p.m and the concerts begin at 7:00 p.m.
