If you visited Covenant College, what first stood out to you about the community?
What stood out most to me was how friendly everyone was.
Why did you choose Covenant College?
I chose Covenant because I believe in a education that is centered on Christ and serving Him in all areas of life, including academics.
What aspect of Covenant College do you like best?
What I like best about Covenant is the willingness to help from professors. I have been really thankful for the care and time professors have taken to help me understand different topics.
What has been your favorite Covenant College event and why?
My favorite Covenant event so far has been Kilter. The theme makes dressing up all the more fun and the venues are amazing.
How does residence life add to/support your academic goals at Covenant College?
I live off campus, but have been welcomed on multiple halls as if I lived there, which I think is a great testament to the general attitude of inclusion and care that Covenant has.
Which professors have most impacted the way you think and why?
My Old Testament professor, Dr. Ward, has deeply impacted how I think about Scripture and my life as a follower of Christ. The understanding of the Old Testament I gained in Dr. Ward’s class helped me understand the love of Christ in a new and deeper way that I had not experienced before.
What do you most enjoy about your major?
What I enjoy most about my major is getting to learn things about areas I have always had an interest in but never had the opportunity to study.
How is Covenant equipping you for post-graduation life in your area of study?
My degree will equip me for work once I have graduated Covenant by giving me the proper platform to go straight into a coaching position or to further my education.
Can you give an example of how the core classes affected your other classes?
My core classes have helped prepare me for my other classes by providing me with a good understanding of what kind of writing and assignments will be expected in classes outside of the core curriculum.
How is Covenant equipping you for active membership in the church?
Covenant is equipping me to be an active member of a church by showing me day-to-day what it means to serve others in the name of the Lord and be apart of a community that does so, through interactions with my fellow students and professors on campus.
How have your relationships at Covenant shaped your expectations for the other communities God will call you to in life?
My relationships at Covenant have shaped my expectations for the other communities God will call me to by showing me that caring for one another, coming alongside each other, and supporting one another is a duty of mine if I am to be a loving member of the community I am a part of.
What’s your favorite way to spend your free-time on or off campus?
One of my favorite things to do with my free time is to either hike on trails on Lookout Mountain or go to my favorite gym in Chattanooga, Get Built.
