Singing in choirs, working with kids at my church, watching movies, tour guiding at Ruby Falls, and going for long walks with Starbucks coffee and sweet friends.

Favorite place on campus
My dorm room! I love sitting by the window in my room and people-watching, enjoying the weather (when it's pretty), and appreciating God's creation and the beauty in it.

Honors received at Covenant
Dean’s list

Why did you choose Covenant?
My parents both work here, so Covenant had been on my radar for a while, but I have always appreciated that Covenant is a true Christian college, not by name only, but in every way that the school operates. I considered other schools, but Covenant seemed to really want me, and that wasn't something I was getting elsewhere.

How is Covenant unique?
Covenant is a small, tightly knit community. While no given student knows everybody, there are no real strangers. It's pretty rare to see a student you don't recognize at all. This also makes class dynamics so much better because the classes are smaller and the professors are very personal. I love that the professors care about us and who we are rather than our performance in the classroom.

What has been your favorite experience at Covenant?
Singing in both chorale and chamber singers has been great! Dr. Finch is brilliant, and I want to be a choir director one day, so I am incredibly blessed to get to work under someone as gifted as him.

What is your favorite class so far?
Aural Comprehension with Dr. Kreuze!

What made that class your favorite?
I really enjoy getting to use my gifts in music, and aural comp. is all about ear training. I came in very intimidated by the idea of someone playing something on the piano and me having to notate it by myself, but Dr. Kreuze has taught the class very well and explained everything clearly, and it has come very naturally to me, so I've ended up really loving it!

What are some things you enjoy about your major(s)?
The professors are all so wonderful and wise. It's a very small department, but I really love it because there is not so much of a sense of competition among the students as there is with a big department at a larger school. We are able to find joy in music here.

What’s your favorite part of the day at Covenant?
I like night time, right before I go to bed. People on my hall are usually hanging out in the commons, and that is my people time when I get to unwind after a long day.

What are your post-graduation plans?
I want to go to grad school for choral conducting and I'm hoping to one day conduct high school and/or college choirs!

How is Covenant equipping you for the future?
Covenant is preparing me to go into a secular world with the knowledge and the strength to be firm in what I believe—that my salvation is in Christ. The solid, consistent Biblical teaching at Covenant is allowing me to expand my knowledge and understanding of these truths of scripture. A liberal arts education is also incredibly beneficial. I will leave Covenant with a wide range of knowledge covering the whole academic spectrum, which will help equip me to live more fully the life of an image bearer who has studied many aspects of God's creation. Covenant is teaching me to live with my hope set on one who is molding me into the woman He has chosen me to be.
