Covenant account


What is my Covenant username?

Your Covenant username is your email address without the @covenant.edu. For example, if your email address is john.doe@covenant.edu your Covenant username is john.doe.

 

How often do I have to change my password?

You must change your Covenant password every 90 days.

 

What are the password complexity requirements?

Passwords must be between 9 and 30 characters. Passwords must begin with a letter and include at least two letters (including one uppercase), one number, and one symbol. Some symbols are not compatible with Banner and therefore should not be used. The following is a list of acceptable symbols: ! * + - / : ?

Passwords may not contain any three contiguous letters of the username and cannot contain the words Oracle, PROD, or PPRD. Passwords may not be set to any of the last 24 passwords.

 

My account says it is locked. How can I unlock it?

You can go to our online ReACT portal and unlock the account 24x7.

ReACT says the account is locked. How do I fix that?

You must call 706-419-1219 or visit Technology Services in MH110 to have the ReACT account unlocked.

 

 

Banner


What is my Banner username?

WiFi


What do I need for my personal computer to work on the new wireless network?

All you need is a 802.11AC/b/g/n wireless network adapter that supports WPA2-PSK encryption.

Why does my account/wifi just stop working?

This normally means that your account has locked out. This will happen if your Covenant account tries with an incorrect password 3 times. This often happens when you change your password but forget to update it in all the places you have it saved such as:

  • Cell phone wifi
  • Tablet
  • Apps on your cell phone or tablet for Gmail or Canvas
  • Gaming system
  • Smart TV
  • Smartwatch
  • Web pages such as Banner or Canvas

 

Can I print to my personal printer?

We recommend that you connect to your personal printer via USB cable. Wireless connectivity is possible, but you will need security measures in place; otherwise, anyone can print to your computer.

If I want to purchase hardware or software are there any discounts available?

Covenant students have discounts available at Connection, Dell Computers, and Varsity Buys.

 

 

Canvas

Computer labs


When will the labs be available for my use?

The Mills Hall lab is open Monday - Friday from 7:45 AM - 12:00 AM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM - 12:00 AM. There is a print station available in each dorm that is always open. Labs specific to a particular department are open at the discretion of the academic area.

 

How many computers are available in each area and what type of equipment can I expect to find?

What kind of cellular reception can I expect?

AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon offer pretty good coverage on campus and around the local proximity. On campus coverage from most other service providers is weak. Discounts are available from AT&T for employees and students. Verizon offers discounts to Covenant employees.
