Dr. Niel B. Nielson, President

Niel Nielson was inaugurated as Covenant College’s fifth president in 2002.

Before coming to Covenant, Niel served as Associate Pastor of Outreach at College Church in Wheaton, Illinois, leading the church’s evangelism, social outreach, and church planting efforts as well as overseeing college and singles ministries and missions. Niel is an ordained ruling elder in the PCA.

He has also worked in the financial markets, human resources, and venture capital with the Chicago Research and Trading Group/NationsBank, and in mergers and acquisitions with The ServiceMaster Company. During that time, the Nielson family spent two years in London, and Niel traveled extensively in Europe, the former Soviet Union, and the Far East. Additionally, Niel has taught philosophy at Bethel College (MN).

Niel serves on the Boards of Directors of Good News Publishers/Crossway Books, Covenant Transport, Inc., several investment funds, Allied Arts of Chattanooga, and the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera. He has also served for eight years (three as President) on the Board of Trustees of Wheaton Academy, a Christian secondary school.

Niel received a B.A. in philosophy from Wheaton College, where he sang in the Men’s Glee Club and played varsity tennis. His M.A. and Ph.D. are both in philosophy from Vanderbilt University. Niel’s wife, Kathleen, also received her M.A. and Ph.D. from Vanderbilt, in literature. Kathleen has authored a number of Bible studies and teaches regularly at women’s conferences and retreats around the country.

Niel and Kathleen have three sons: Jonathan, Daniel, and David.

Wallace R. Anderson, Vice President

Wallace Anderson is Vice President for Admissions and Enrollment Management at Covenant College.

Prior to joining the College in 2004, Wallace served as a Senior Staff member for Mission to the World (the world missions agency of the PCA) and Director of Admissions at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.

His professional experience also includes serving as Vice President of American Operations for Restaurants International in New York City.

Wallace earned a B.M. in voice from Georgia Southern University, an M.M. in voice from Butler University (IN), and an M.A. and M.Div., both from Covenant Theological Seminary.

Wallace and his wife, Paige, have three children: Kendi, Roy, and Cameron.



Troy A. Duble, Vice President

Troy Duble is Vice President for Advancement at Covenant College.

Prior to his appointment as Vice President in 2005, Troy served as Covenant’s Director of Development. He has also held such roles as youth director of Chesterfield Presbyterian Church (MO), development intern for Covenant Theological Seminary, and development and admissions intern at Covenant College.

Troy received a B.A. in business administration from Covenant College, where he played varsity soccer.

Troy and his wife, Sarah, have three children: Kyra, Cade, and Tess.



Dr. Jeffrey B. Hall, Vice President

Jeff Hall is Vice President for Academic Affairs at Covenant College.

Jeff has served as Vice President of the College since 2003. Previously, he held roles as Chief Academic Officer, Dean of Faculty, Dean of the Master of Education Program, and Associate Professor of Education, all at Covenant.

Jeff earned an A.B. in elementary education from Grove City College and an M.Ed. from the University of Slippery Rock (PA), also in elementary education. His Ed.D. is from the University of Tennessee in educational administration and supervision with collateral studies in American higher education and in industrial and organizational psychology.

Before coming to Covenant, Jeff served as elementary principal and curriculum coordinator at Chattanooga Christian School and teaching principal at Jubilee Christian School in Grove City, Pennsylvania.

Jeff and his wife, Lynn, have four children, all of whom have attended Covenant College: Abigail, Nathan, Sarah, and Micah.
