Consumer Information
In compliance with the Department of Education’s Title IV regulations for consumer information, Covenant College provides the following list with brief descriptions identifying consumer information resources. To obtain any information concerning consumer resources, please contact Dean Miller, Associate Dean of Students Emily Ford, or the Office of Financial Aid. Paper copies of the information are available from the offices or individuals indicated below at the address of 14049 Scenic Highway, Lookout Mountain, GA, 30750. - Covenant College. General institutional information. Contact: The Office of Admissions.
- Covenant’s Academic Programs and Accreditation. Information concerning Covenant College’s academic programs, policies and services, as well as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools’ procedures and approvals for accreditation. Contact: The Office of Academic Affairs.
- Financial Aid. Information concerning federal and state aid policies and procedures, loans, financial plannning and assistance, work-study and self-help, and institutional aid. Contact: The Financial Aid Office or view the financial aid website or the Financial Aid Handbook.
- Student Completion or Graduation Rates. Information concerning student persistence unto graduation, specifically in regards to first-time freshmen (certificate or degree-seeking), full-time undergraduate students, and intercollegiate athletes. - Campus Security Report. Information concerning campus security, the campus crime report and timely warnings of crimes on campus. Contact: The Office of Facilities Management or view the campus crime report or information security plan online.
- Drug-free and Alcohol Abuse Prevention. Information concerning the College’s drug-free and alcohol abuse standards, policies and educational programming. Contact: Priesthill Center (Health Services and Counseling Services) or click here to view the drug-free document online.
- Computer/Internet Usage. Using computer resources for any purpose that is illegal, immoral, unethical, dishonest, damaging to the reputation of the college or that is likely to subject the college to liability may result in suspension of the student’s account. Illegal acts involving college computing facilities may also be referred to state and federal authorities for prosecution.
Technological advances in the field of computer science afford students access to a truly global network resulting in unlimited academic resources and convenience. At the same time, the possible misuse of the cyberspace network for personal or academic wrongful gain is abundant.
Covenant College offers a first class wireless network to promote and enhance the academic purpose and mission of the college. Students are encouraged to protect their personal machines from viruses and intrusion by others. Covenant is not responsible for any loss of data on personal machines. Users may not provide access from their computers to anything protected by copyright (including MP3 files from copyrighted media), or of a sexually explicit or pornographic nature, or which violates College policies. The college reserves the right to scan any part of its network, including the wireless network for security problems and to monitor traffic and usage patterns on its network. The College retains the right to block or to disable network applications that use excessive network bandwidth or which facilitate illegal activity.
The Standards of Conduct apply to the use and care of the Internet, E-mail, IM, and all electronic networks available to our community. In the event that a member of this community misuses the computer network, disciplinary actions will be determined by a combined effort of the Offices of Academic Affairs and Student Development. Generally, violations of the Standards of Conduct through the use of computer communications including, but not limited to, illegal file sharing will result in disciplinary action from the Offices of Academic Affairs and Student Development.
- Intercollegiate Athletics and Title IX. Information concerning the annual athletic report giving specific enrollment and participation figures, coaching and staff information, revenues, financial support data and operating expenses related to its varsity teams. Information concerning the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA),
specific information concerning student discipline or anti-terrorism,
and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996
