Hometown

Colorado Springs, CO

Office in Senate

Student Body President

Other interest on and off campus

I like spending quality time with friends, studying, teaching Sunday school to three-year-olds, learning to cook, living on Lookout Mountain, and just about anything that has to do with Covenant College!

Favorite thing about Senate

One aspect of senate that I love is the way it encourages students to develop and utilize their unique gifts to serve the college and the community, often in ordinary ways that have extraordinary value.

Why Senate?

Senate is a way to serve and invest in a college that continues to serve me so well. Senate provides such a broad awareness of the effort that contributes to making Covenant the college that it is. It is a joy to be a part of planning events and supporting clubs that enrich the lives of students here.

Why Senate?

It gives me an opportunity to use the gifts God has given me to serve my brothers and sisters here at Covenant.

Other interest on and off campus

Sports in general. I enjoy playing them but I especially love watching the Miami Heat. I also have fun camping on the weekends with friends or climbing over at Sunset Rock. I love almost all music, just not country. As weird as this may sound, I also really enjoy the accounting classes I have taken here.

Favorite thing about Senate

Learning from all the brilliant and wise people that are a part of senate. Apart from that, the personal responsibilities that come with the job of treasurer. The financial aspect of putting together the budget and making sure everything runs smoothly fascinates me.

Why Senate?

Senate gives me an opportunity to use my gifts and give back to Covenant, a place that has given so much to me. I care about the student body and want to both lead and represent others. Student senate puts me in the best position to do both.

Other interest on and off campus

Climbing rocks, running on the cross country trails, eating in downtown Chattanooga, reading for fun, swimming for sport, and any activity with good friends.

Favorite thing about Senate

The long history of really quality people who, in their roles on senate, have worked in little and big ways to cultivate and advance the mission of Covenant College in the interest of students.

Why Senate?

I want to join that catalog of servants that devote time and effort to bettering Covenant College.

Major

Hometown

Lookout Mountain, GA

Office in Senate

Senior Class President

Other interest on and off campus

Our campus is in a prime location. We are blessed to be on beautiful Lookout Mountain, with all of its wonderful scenery. One of my favorite spots is Sunset Rock, which is right down the road from campus. It is a great place to rock climb, fellowship, and take hammock naps. Chattanooga is also a hip town. Looking for something new downtown is a hobby of mine, whether discovering a new restaurant, park, or store. Chattanooga is great for spontaneity.

Favorite thing about Senate

Senate is fun because I get to serve my class that I have been a part of for three years and make our final year as enjoyable as possible. I represent the class of 2013 and look forward to the upcoming challenges.

Why Senate?

I chose to run for senate because of my love for the Covenant community. I have grown to love the student body and I figured the best way I could truly embrace it would be to join senate. Serving my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ is my ultimate goal as class president.

Favorite thing about Senate

I love working closely with a group of students that take the job seriously and enjoy serving the student body.

Why Senate?

Senate is just one of several ways to get involved around campus. I have had the opportunity to serve in this way in the past and jumped at the opportunity to do it again.

Other interest on and off campus

I am an avid member of the Speech and Debate Club, I thoroughly enjoy reading and occasionally submitting my thoughts to The Bagpipe, and exploring the greater Chattanooga area with the many different cool Covenant kids.

Favorite thing about Senate

Having the opportunity to serve the student body alongside other involved and concerned students. The meetings aren't so bad either. They're actually great preparation for work in a professional setting.

Why Senate?

Call me crazy but I'm a huge fan of politics. Being a part of student senate gives me a taste of what a professional political environment is like. It is also a great way to stay connected to the goings on of Covenant, and to make a difference on behalf of the student body for the sake of the school.

Cities in general, exploring Chattanooga, urban gardening, running on trails and roads alike, good food, good music, community development, dance parties, kayaking, documentaries chapel lawn soccer, good books, libraries, crafting, pretzels, and event planning!

Favorite thing about Senate

I love the opportunity it gives to make ideas a reality on campus. It's great to see that ability given directly to students. It's also a really unique way to connect with the student body as a whole and get a sense of what's going on in people or groups I wouldn't normally get a chance to interact with.

Why Senate?

I'm excited to work with CAB, making next year one full of activity. I love seeing students connect more with each other through campus events and would love for students to become more connected with and involved in Chattanooga through CAB in the next year.

Other interest on and off campus

Traveling, camping, running, spending time with friends, and going to church.

Favorite thing about Senate

This past year I've really enjoyed getting to know a wide range of people that I would normally not spend much time with. Senate creates unique friendships and teaches you how to work with others.

Why Senate?

I loved being freshman class president and I felt that this would be another great opportunity, helping me stay involved and serve the student body.
