Whether it’s a good game of Frisbee golf on the chapel lawn, attending one of our legendary theatre productions, or just hanging out with friends on our beautiful campus or along Chattanooga’s bustling riverfront, you will never be at a shortage of fun and exciting things to do at Covenant.
Outdoor Adventures.
Take advantage of our tremendous mountain location and outstanding recreational activities by:
- camping
- cycling
- hiking to Cloudland Canyon waterfalls
- mountain biking
- rock climbing
- white water rafting
- and for the really adventurous: hang-gliding off the Lookout Mountain cliffs, or a polar bear swim in January
City Life.
Explore the dynamic city of Chattanooga, just 5 miles from campus. A thriving business district, shopping malls, music venues, a local IMAX, and abundant leisure activities make Chattanooga one of the nation’s most livable cities.
Dining Out.
You will find dining hotspots that fit every budget and offer plenty of fun and excitement. These include local favorites such as Greyfriar’s Coffee (alumni-founded) and Clumpies Ice Cream (alumni-owned), as well as Mojo Burrito and Big River Grille. You can hang out with friends at Lupi’s Pizza or relax for a picnic at Coolidge Park.
Sports and Recreation.
75 percent of Covenant students play intramural sports, including men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, tennis, and volleyball. And if you think dodgeball is just the game you played at recess in fourth grade, you haven’t seen Covenant students compete for the gold in what is know here as Battle Ball.
The Covenant Scots.
Join in the spirit of intercollegiate athletics by supporting Covenant’s 13 successful athletic teams for men and women. Our beloved Scots compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).
