Pursuing Knowledge Transformed by Faith
Choosing a college can be a daunting task: what is most important about the college experience? Is it the people? The academics? The community beliefs? The location?
We want to make your decision easier—see below what makes Covenant so special.
The Covenant Experience
Picture yourself on a mountaintop next to our castle in the clouds… All around you are breathtaking views. Below is the exciting city of Chattanooga, and beside you is the beautiful chapel building pointing towards the sky symbolizing our focus on Christ. And everywhere you look are people who want to impact you, guide you, support you, pray for you, love you, and equip you with what you need to pursue a successful life and career with godly purpose. This is the Covenant experience.
Covenant’s rigorous and courageous education is guided by Christian faculty with degrees from prestigious universities. With 38 academic majors, pre-professional programs, and certificate opportunities, we provide a variety of academic paths. All students complete a capstone project, the culmination and reflection of research skills guided by faculty mentors.
We believe true spiritual growth comes from encountering Jesus as a community. From chapel to classroom, from dorms to athletic fields, you will find spiritual enrichment throughout your Covenant experience as faculty, staff, and peers disciple each other and grow together.
We equip you to pursue meaningful work by helping you find your calling, apply your talents, build a network, and develop skills to excel. We connect students with internships and job opportunities and coach them through each step of the job application process.
How might the Covenant experience change each year?
DISCOVERY | YEAR 1
As you progress through your first year at Covenant, discover who you want to become spiritually, academically, and professionally. Create life-giving habits, and build relationships with friends and faculty who will walk with you and guide you. Invest in hall life and a local church community, and make Covenant College your home.
CLARITY | YEAR 2
In your second year, discern God's calling for you as you consider your major, certificate programs, and extracurricular pursuits. Use the Center for Calling & Career to gain clarity on your career path, engage with faculty as you dive deeper into academics, and continue to grow in relationship with the Lord and the Covenant community.
FOCUS | YEAR 3
As you approach your life and career after Covenant, learn from internships and work on your Capstone Project with increased clarity and focus.
LAUNCH | YEAR 4
Complete your Capstone Project and graduate from Covenant, taking your relationships, knowledge, and trust in the Lord with you into your life and career.
LIFE & CAREER
The distinctly Christian liberal arts education and life preparation of The Covenant Ascent helps clarify your calling in God's world. It prepares you to succeed in future academic endeavors, to grow in relationship with the Lord throughout your entire life, and to thrive in whatever career the Lord calls you to.
Whether you enter the laboratory, the classroom, the courtroom, whether you rear children or serve as an accountant, you go into your work not as a distraction from your faith but as a vital expression of it.
