Off-Campus Studies

Programs of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities

• Oxford Programme - Spend a summer or a semester at Oxford University in England.
• Los Angeles Film Studies Center - Spend an intensive semester immersed in film with professionals and other Christian students.
• Washington Journalism Center - Spend a semester on Capitol Hill to cultivate professional skills and think through the implications of being a Christian working in the news media.

 

Other possibilities

Covenant students may take advantage of other programs for study abroad, either for a semester or for a summer. From time to time, the department may offer off-campus courses during the May Term.

 

Internships

Through the Practicum in Journalism, students may gain experience in positions on campus or in the Chattanooga area.

Students interested in missions, including teaching English as a Second Language, may take advantage of summer programs offered through Mission to the World, English Language Institute/China, and similar organizations.

 

Professional Meetings

Professors in the department are leaders in the regional and national Conference on Christianity and Literature and encourage students to submit papers to be read at the annual southeastern meeting.
