Priesthill Center Counseling Services
Welcome to Priesthill Center Counseling Services! We provide confidential individual, relationship, and group counseling at no extra cost to our students. Our desire is to deliver compassionate and quality therapy to help you navigate whatever issue you may be facing during your college experience. In addition to traditional counseling we are now offering Single Session Therapy, which you can learn more about here. Throughout the year we also provide skill-building workshops, training opportunities, and subject-specific discussion groups during the academic year.

Priesthill Center Counseling Services is excited to offer Single Session Therapy(SST) to the students at Covenant College. This service is especially helpful for students who want help with a particular issue and need to get “unstuck.” SST involves coming in for one therapy session with no commitment or expectation to return. SST gets students connected with one of our therapists quickly—usually the same or the next day—to help solve a particular problem that is causing distress. The goal will be to work towards solutions, rely on strengths, and give tools to help solve a single issue.
Call our number at 706-419-1275 or come to Priesthill in person to speak with our Office Coordinator and ask to make an appointment. They will ask you a few questions to better understand your needs, and you will be given an intake appointment. If you choose not to fill out your paperwork ahead of time, please come 30 minutes early to your appointment to complete it. Your initial appointment and all further appointments will take approximately 45-50 minutes. Your therapist will work with you to create a treatment plan to address your goals.

Sometimes students prefer to see someone off campus for different reasons. Our office
has a list of trusted providers and will connect you with resources in the area upon
request if you aren’t sure where to go.
During office hours there is at least one counselor on staff with built-in triage times for mental health emergencies. A mental health emergency is defined as:
- Suicidal thoughts or actions
- Harming yourself or harming others
- Symptoms of psychosis (hearing or seeing things others do not, delusional thinking)
- Symptoms of a manic episode (agitated behavior, unnatural energy, lack of sleep for 3 days)
- Please call our office number and speak with our office coordinator about your concerns. Because of the nature of our center, we are not available at all times or for on-call services.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency and need to talk with someone right away, please use one of the following resources:
- Call the on-duty Resident Director: 706-419-1176
- Call Parkridge Valley Hospital RESPOND: 423-499-2300
- Call Lifeline at (800) 273-8255 (National Crisis Line)
- Call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline
